Sometimes God seems mute. He has all the means by which to talk, but just doesn't sometimes.
I don't have all the answers. But I know He is a good dad. We're promised it. So we can assume He's not just toying with us or watching us squirm for the fun of it.
Here's one idea. Just like a child learns to walk without the grip of their father's hand, so we learn to trust what God says is true when He's not talking, when we don't sense Him.
In short these gaps are for our growth. They're not always fun, but when we walk with God, they are still good. I've said it before, but here it is again: God does some of His best work when we don't feel His presence.
