If your soul is garden, God is a gardener — and a darn good one, a patient one who wants to grow beautiful things and one who knows what needs to leave.
But this gardener only gardens with permission. He can uproot nasty desires, plant beautiful habits, bring about blossoms of generosity. But He means to do it in cooperation with whoever's garden it is.
So invite Him in. Ask Him to show you areas that need work — areas that perhaps you're blind to. Ask Him what needs to stay and what needs to go. You may disagree, but He's been around for a while and has a good grip on what makes these soul gardens healthy.
