...is a primary ingredient of worship.
What takes center stage of your attention?
Is it money?
A busy schedule?
How you compare to others?
The fear that someone doesn't like you?
If you're like me it's an odious combination of all of them. My soul's default mode is not to look to Jesus. I wish it was.
I'm not saying it's a sin to be concerned about paying your bills or to get upset if someone disapproves of you. I'm just saying to take a good look at what's been stealing your awe lately.
And you know what?
You can reprogram if you need to! I know it's true, because I've had to do it more times than I can count. It goes something like this (some may call it "repentance"):
"Jesus, I've been worried about money, time, people (or fill in the blank). I haven't given you much thought. I just wanted to tell You that You are beautiful and I want You to have my finest attention and awe. Amen."
