I'm just going to remind you of something.
There is no balancing act required to stay right with God. Jesus is your righteousness. Jesus is your pardon from sin. A perfect life has been lived on your behalf. Your personal catalogue of sin has been dealt with. It's as simple as that.
"Joshua, I know this." Of course you do. But has the Gospel infiltrated every crevice of your soul? It hasn't mine.
I love watching someone pour cream into iced coffee. I like it because iced coffee is usually in a glass and you can watch the spectacle of the cream dispersing throughout. It takes longer than hot coffee and it's beautiful to see.
I imagine the Gospel to be a bit like that ("wait, Josh. You stinking hipster. You're comparing the Gospel to iced coffee?" Yes. Yes, I am.) See, it's not finished at the initial pour. It takes a while to fully consume us, to get to every corner... a long while, a lifetime. When you realize one part of your soul is consumed, it's on to the next (and if you think yourself near the end, you have far to go).
You can watch it and say "Gee thanks, God, for pouring the Gospel right into me. It will take some time to get all the way in, but that's okay." Cheers.
